User ID Management
If the network connection is available, you can manage the machine using user IDs.
User ID Management enables you to manage up to 100 User IDs. If User ID
Management is set to ‘On’, and User IDs and passwords are registered in the
machine, you must enter a User ID and password before using the machine.
IMPORTANT
•
The User ID Management function is available only when the optional Network Kit is
attached to the machine.
•
You must register the User ID and password before you set this mode to ‘On’.
•
User IDs and passwords must be registered in the machine from the Remote UI
beforehand. To access the Remote UI from a computer, you must set the machine
configurations. (See “Remote UI,” on p. 4-32.) For instructions on registering a User ID
and password, see the
Remote UI Guide
.
NOTE
•
Each User ID can belong to only one Department ID. You cannot register the same User
ID under multiple Department IDs at the same time.
•
The default setting is ‘Off’.
