Main Power and Control Panel Power
The machine is provided with two power switches, a main power switch and a
control panel power switch.
How to Turn ON the Main Power
This section explains how to turn ON the main power.

Make sure that the power plug is firmly inserted into the power
outlet.
WARNING
Do not connect or disconnect the power cord with wet hands, as this may result
in electrical shock.
IMPORTANT
•
If the main power indicator does not light up, make sure that the power plug is properly
inserted into the power outlet.
•
If you want to turn the main power OFF, turn the control panel power switch OFF, and
then press the main power switch to the “
” side.
•
If the Cassette Heater Unit-30 is attached, the machine will enter the Sleep mode when
you press the control panel power switch to OFF while the machine is ON. For more
information about the Sleep mode, see “Auto Sleep Time,” on p. 3-30. For more
information on the Cassette Heater Unit-30, contact your local authorized Canon dealer.

Press the main power switch
(located on the right side of the
machine) to “I” side.
The main power indicator on the control
panel lights up when the main power is
turned ON.
