Receiving Faxes

Chapter 9

Setting the receive mode

Follow this procedure:

Press [Additional Functions].

Press [OK] twice.

Use [ ] or [ ] to select the receive mode.

– <

FAX ONLY MODE

Set to automatically receive faxes only. (If you connected a
telephone to your machine, the telephone will not ring.)

– <

NET SWITCH

>*:

Set if you have subscribed to the Telstra FaxStream

Duet

service (Australia) or the Telecom FaxAbility service (New
Zealand).

– <

MANUAL MODE

Set for the machine to ring for fax and voice calls. Fax calls
must be answered manually.

– <

ANS.MACHINE MODE

Set for the answering machine connected to your machine to
respond to an incoming call first, and then to receive faxes
automatically.

– <

FAX/TEL AUTO SW

Set to automatically switch between fax and voice calls. Faxes
will be received automatically, and the machine will ring for
voice calls. (If you connected a telephone to your machine, the
telephone will not ring.)

* This setting is only available in Australia and New Zealand.

Press [OK].

• The receive mode will be displayed on the bottom left of the LCD.
