2.1 SAFETY
2.1.1 O
PERATOR
>
Read the instructions carefully
and always keep the manual near your machine so you can refer to it
easily.
>
This is a rotary machine: the wheels are potentially dangerous. Be very careful and keep your
hands away
from the set of wheels.
>
Two people are necessary to
move
the machine.
>
When you activate the
clamp shafts
, keep your fingers outside the contact areas.
>
Before touching the
fuses
, disconnect the mains cable.
>
Make sure that the
installation is perfectly water-tight
.
>
Before servicing the edger, check that the mains cable is unplugged.
2.1.2 M
ACHINE
>
Make sure your
voltage source corresponds to the voltage specified on the identification plate
located at the rear of the machine. If you are unsure of the type of current available in your premises, contact
your electricity company.
>
If
the machine is not going to be used for a long period of time, disconnect
the power cords from
the wall outlet.
>
Disconnect the machine if there is an electrical storm or when the machine is left unattended
for a long period.
>
Keep the machine
away from any source of heat
. A radiator is a heat source which can be detrimental to
the correct operation of the machine.
>
The
openings in the cover are designed to ventilate the machine
and contribute to its normal
operation. Do not obstruct them or cover them.
>
Make sure that the machine is installed in a
correctly ventilated room
.
>
Do not overload the wall sockets or plugs
because you would increase the risk of fire or electric shock.
>
Avoid
using electric extension leads
.
>
Keep the machine
away from any source of dust
.
>
Any servicing or work on the machine (with the cover open or closed) must be undertaken by a Briot
technician.
