Braking System:
When the Ypush is switched off
(green brake override levers are not engaged)
the brakes are automatically engaged when the
handles are not squeezed /gripped. This is called
“Failsafe Braking”. This also happens
automatically if the attendant releases their grip
from the push handles during use.
Safe/Normal position – Brake override lever
NOT engaged.

There may be occasions where you may wish to
move the vehicle without power. To do this there
is a brake override lever (green) on each push
handle. To activate, compress each of the brake
lever handles in turn and at the same time raise
the green override lock– a click will be heard con-
firming brake/s are overridden. The push handles
cannot be easily held to drive now as the green
override levers are in the raised position.
IF YOU ARE NOT COMPLETELY SURE OF THIS
FEATURE CONTACT YOUR DEALER BEFORE
OPERATING THE YPUSH.
NOT safe / Brakes overridden – only use this
mode for pushing the Ypush UNOCCUPIED!

Warning!
If the green brake override
devices are in the raised position the braking is
disabled. Never lock if the Ypush is on a slope
or occupied by an occupant !onto a slope.
NEVER leave one brake override lever locked
and the other unlocked. You could damage
your Ypush wheelchair and/or cause injury.
Always leave the brakes in the SAFE position
when the Ypush is in use.
