Installation instructions
Installation location
The ctrlX SAFETY has protection class IP20 and is therefore intended for use in a closed
control cabinet or control box (terminal box) with protection class IP54 or higher.
DIN rail
Mount the ctrlX SAFETY controller on a 35 mm standard DIN rail. The required height of the
DIN rail is 7.5 mm (corresponding to TH 35-7.5 according to EN 60715).
The distance between the support rails must not be greater than 200 mm. This distance is
necessary for stability during installation and removal of the controller.
Only install the controller horizontally on a DIN rail that is attached to a wall!
Installation position
In order to ensure the natural convection cooling in the device, the controller must only be
installed vertically, according to the figure below:
In the illustrated installation position, the natural convection supports the forced flow of cooling
air. This prevents the formation of heat pockets in the device.
