PROGRAMMING THE CONTROL PANEL
This section describes how to program an Omnia, Omnia840 or Academy40
Control panel to operate with the BPI Interfacing terminal board.
Start the Control panel Programming Software, select
Config.
(Configuration)
from the bottom row of Main page. Select
VectorBRIDGE
from the
Wireless
options. At this point—in accordance with the
Number of Zones on BPI
,
Aux-
iliary Signals on BPI
and
Wireless Keys on BPI
options—the program will
make some automatic changes in the
Configuration
,
Zones
,
Partitions
, and
Events-Actions
pages, as follows.
IMPORTANT
The new settings will be different from those in the connected
Control panel memory. Therefore,
DO NOT UPLOAD THE POGRAMMED
DATA FROM THE CONNECTED CONTROL PANEL UNTIL GLOBAL
DOWNLOAD HAS BEEN DONE.
Number of Zones on BPI
This option determines the Input Expanders that will be reserved for Wireless
Sensors.
IMPORTANT
In order to guarantee proper functioning of the Control panel ,
the
Number of Zones on BPI
option of the Control panel must be programmed
as per the
Num. Zones on BPI
option of the Interface (refer to “Number of
Zones on BPI” in the “PROGRAMMING THE INTERFACE ” section).
+
The Addresses shown under
‘NO Auxiliary Signals on BPI’
in Table 3 (page
82) cannot be assigned to Input Expanders. If an Input Expander already
occupies one of these Addresses, its Address must be changed. If the remain-
ing Addresses are insufficient, the surplus Input Expanders must be discon-
nected from the Control panel BPI Bus. All programming relevant to the Zones
of Input Expanders with new Addresses must be checked.
The program will make the following changes to the
Configuration
,
Zones
,
Partitions
and
Events-Actions
pages.
The Input Expanders shown under
NO Auxiliary Signals on BPI
in Table 3
(page 82) will be reserved for Wireless sensors.
The Tamper events on Input Expanders no. 01 and no. 02 will signal Receiver
Tamper and Interface Tamper respectively. The Program will assign the
De-
scription
VectorRX
to Input Expander no. 01, and the
Description
VectorBRIDGE
to Input Expander no. 02. Therefore, the event logger will
record Receiver Tamper as Tamper
VectorRX
, and Interface Tamper as Tamper
VectorBRIDGE
.
The program will assign the
Description
“Reserved”
to the remaining Input
Expanders.
