Testing the Reception of Wireless Sensors
To test AMD10A and AMD10 Wireless Sensors, remove the sensor from the
backplate then reattach it. The sensor LED will blink 5 times to indicate that
transmission signals have been sent. The placement result will be shown on
the keypad. Repeat the procedure for the second and third placement tests.
IMPORTANT
In order to avoid damage to the tamper switch, place the backplate
carefully onto the sensor, ensuring that “TOP” is facing upward.

Removal of the sensor from the backplate (Tamper) will activate the “Sensor
Walk Test” mode. W hen in this mode the sensor will activate the LED when
motion is detected, and will also send a signal to the receiver (5 seconds after
motion is detected). The sensor LED will blink 5 times to indicate that transmis-
sion signals have been sent. The LED will operate in this way for 10 motion
detections after a Tamper/Restore. These transmissions will be ignored by the
Receiver during the placement test. The only time the Receiver will acknowl-
edge a Placement Test is when the backplate is removed and then reattached.
For the ASD10 placement test: remove the sensor from the backplate, wait 5
seconds then reattach it, or hold a magnet near the raised line on the outer rim,
then move it away.
For the AMC10 placement test: open the contact by moving the magnet away
from the unit. The placement result will be shown on the display. After the first
test result (approximately 10 seconds) close the contact to generate another
test result. If the unit is attached to a door or window, open and close the door or
window to activate the device.
Mounting the Receiver
W hen choosing the mounting location of the Receiver ensure the mounting
surface is flat, as uneven surfaces may impair proper functioning of the snatch
switch

to the figure on page 59).
1 Loosen the screws

to release the backplate from the frontplate.
3 Lift the frontplate upwards to a 90° angle, then pull the frontplate away from
the backplate.

5 Place the backplate on the wall, in the selected mounting location, mark the
screw positions 17 then drill the screw holes.

Be careful to avoid conduits and plumbing when drilling.
6 Place the backplate in the proposed placement, pull the wires through the wire
entry

, then secure the backplate to the wall (use anchor screws).
