Initializing and Setting Up the Routers
112768 Rev. B
3-9
A normal, successful installation requires booting with the ti_5000.cfg file once;
however, you must reboot again with the ti_5000.cfg file before running the
installation script when:
•
The router is currently booted from a configuration file other than ti_5000.cfg.
•
You terminate the installation script.
•
You change the initial IP connector (port) that you use to communicate with
the Site Manager workstation.
To boot the router using the ti_5000.cfg file:
1.
Enter the following command:
boot s5000.exe ti_5000.cfg
This command retrieves and loads the executable image s5000.exe and the
configuration file ti_5000.cfg from the first available volume (memory card)
in the System 5000 chassis. To specify the volume when booting, insert the
volume number, a colon (:) and the filename. The following sample command
retrieves the executable image from Volume 3 and the configuration file from
Volume 4:
boot 3:s5000.exe 4:ti_5000.cfg
The router boots and completes the startup procedure.
2.
Establish a new Technician Interface session.
Refer to “Connecting a Router Module” earlier in this chapter for instructions.
