Install the new or replacement SIMM (see Figure 2-3).

Note the location of the guides in the socket.

Hold the SIMM you are installing by its top corners, and align the
SIMM with the socket. Slide the SIMM gently into the socket.
c.
Press down on the SIMM gently to seat it firmly in the socket,
bringing the SIMM to its locked position. You may hear a “click” as
the spring latches engage the ends of the SIMM.
Caution: You may feel a slight resistance as the SIMM locks into
position. If the SIMM does not lock, do not force it. It is very easy to
damage the SIMM socket. Remove the SIMM, reinsert it, wiggle it
gently as you press it into the socket.
