Overview of Model 5380 and Model 5580 Routers
112768 Rev. B
1-7
•
100 Mb/s 100BASE-T Ethernet with an 8-pin modular connector and a media
independent interface (MII) connector
•
Quad-port ISDN BRI; four integrated services digital network (ISDN) basic
rate interfaces (BRI) with four 8-pin modular connectors
Each net module contains status LEDs that indicate the operational status of the
ports. For more information about the net modules, refer to Installation and
Reference for the System 5000 Net Modules.
LEDs
The Model 5380 and Model 5580 LED displays (see Figure 1-4 and Figure 1-5)
consist of a single, bicolor LED (displaying in either green or amber), called the
“annunciator,” and a matrix of bicolor (green or amber) LEDs that indicate
specific operating conditions of the module. The LEDs in the matrix are divided
into four sections: Segment Connection for the Ethernet router and Ring Connect
for the token ring router, Module Status, PPX Transmit, and PPX Arbiter. For
more information about the operation of the LEDs, refer to Appendix B, “LEDs.”
