5.3.2 Setting Up Communication

1. COMMPORT MESSAGES: Enabled

Each P
ULSAR
must have an unique commport address. Do not use address 00h, because if an-
other P
ULSAR
is reset with “Clear all data & restart”, it automatically gets address 00h too. Two
devices with the same address will cause communication problems. Two different devices, e.g. a
P
ULSAR
and a S
AT
200 can use the same address without any problem.
3. COMMPORT BAUDRATE Default value: 19200
Other baudrates: 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600. All devices connected to the same C
OPERNICUS
port
must be set to the same baudrate.
4. COMMPORT TEST-MESSAGE
Send a test-message. If communication is OK, the message “TEST MESSAGES RECEIVED”
will be displayed in the R
OSA
Message List.
5.3.3 Configuration
5.3.3.1 Recall User
All settings saved in the user memory can be recalled at once by executing this function.
When in a menu the
USER
key is lit, it allows you to recall the setting saved as User for the specific menu
item.
5.3.3.2 Save As User
All current P
ULSAR
settings can be stored in the user memory by executing this function. There is only
one user memory available. Saving the current settings before you change settings enables you to recall
them if you want to restore the P
ULSAR
to the original settings.
5.3.3.3 Recall Factory
To reset all P
ULSAR
settings to their factory settings.
5.3.3.4 Units
The RF output level can be displayed as dBµV or dBmV.
5.3.3.5 LCD Contrast
The contrast of the LCD can be controlled according to the user’s needs.
