5.5 Basic Statistics
5.5.1 Description
With the Basic Statistics function, statistics processes can
be executed, such as the calculation of minimum,
maximum and average. Furthermore, it is possible to
calculate the moving average.
With
Basic Statistics , trends can be displayed for the
selected entry over the specified duration (between
1 second and 1 week or 1 to 1000 sampling points).
5.5.2 Mathematics/Algorithm
Fig. 5-5 displays the realistic view of the calculation of
minimum value, maximum value and average.

Calculation of minimum, maximum and average
As shown in Fig. 5-5, the calculation is initiated by the start
command and stopped by the stop command. The values
are kept between start and stop until a reset is performed.
If the operating voltage is switched off, the current values
are not stored and, as a result, are reset on the next start.
Fig. 5-6 shows how the calculation of the moving average
functions with the periodic window approach. The average
is calculated for each periodic window, whereby the size of
the window can be set. As shown, the average is
calculated repeatedly for a window size of 5 elements. It
must be mentioned that the windows do not overlap.
