The quotation marks are required, as in the example above.

Service Control (SC) command
Use the Service Control command to stop a specified service on a serial port.
Service Control command syntax
The Service Control command uses the following syntax:
sc <service_name>
Important:
You must restart the services that you shut down through the Service Control command after
you run the diagnostic. For details, see Restarting services on page 45.
To invoke the Service Control command from Windows
1. Click Start → Programs → Accessories → Command Prompt.
Result: The Command Prompt window appears.
2. At the Command prompt, type sc stop "service_name", and then press Enter.
