Test Information Area
The Test Information area displays the following as the fault
locate test proceeds:

Connection Check – gauges the quality of the
currently connected fiber under test, providing
Connection Check is enabled on the Preferences
Setup screen (see Figure 4-4 on page 4-5).

Test In Progress – data collection and analysis.
•
Test Results – presents a summary of the test results
which include: Analysis Summary, End/Fault
Distance, Loss at OTDR Connection, and Total
Loss (Incl Loss at OTDR).

Analysis Summary – displays a “PASS” rating,
which changes the background color of the Test
Information Area to green, when the value of
the Total Loss (Incl Loss at OTDR) does not
exceed the Total Loss Threshold setting. When
the Total Loss (Incl Loss at OTDR) exceeds the
Total Loss Threshold setting, the Analysis
Summary displays a “FAIL” rating and the
background color changes to red.

End/Fault Distance – displays the distance to
the end of the fiber or to a fault that exceeds the
End of Fiber (dB) threshold as set on the Setup
Parameters screen (see Figure 4-5 on page 4-8).

Loss at OTDR Connection – displays the loss
(in dB) attributed to the unit’s OTDR
bulkhead connection.
