Calibration
The parameters that can be calibrated with the MU909011
Series are the Backscatter coefficient (BSC) level and the
measurement accuracy of OPM (Optical Power Meter). Of
these, the Backscatter coefficient level is the only parameter
that the user can calibrate.

Calibration of the measurement accuracy of the OPM
applies only to units equipped with the optional Optical
Power Meter.
Backscatter Coefficient Level Calibration
Prepare the optical connection where the return loss (R
0
dB)
is known, then connect the devices as shown in the following
figure.

Calibration Procedure:
1.
Start the measurement.
2.
When the measurement is complete, the return loss
of the known point (the optical connector where the
return loss is known) is displayed in the Refl. (dB)
