to save the preview image as a *.PNG file. This selection invokes the Save Preview
Image dialog, where you can specify a filename and target directory for the saved PNG file.
By default, the image is named according to the device that the Navigation Element is
associated with, and the default target directory is the directory that you have saved your VA
project to.

Connecting Elements In The UI Diagram
Each Element in the UI diagram has at least two Connection Nodes. Connection nodes represent
connections between elements (pages) in the Touch Panel UI. UI Element connections are established by
creating lines from one element's Output connection node to another element's Input connection node.
1.
In the Touch Panel UI diagram, left-click and hold on the output node of a desired device element.
2.
Drag your mouse over a valid input connection node on another UI element, or the required
intermediate device (such as an Expansion or Networking device) that allows the device to connect
to the Central Controller.
The cursor will change to indicate which nodes are not permitted for the type of connection you are
attempting (FIG. 88).
3.
Release the mouse button to complete the connection. Assuming the nodes make a valid connection,
VA draws a connecting line between the devices, and the name of the of the connecting element is
automatically added to the target element:
Connect the Exit node on each element to an output of the same type on the other device. For
example, if you add a RS-232 device, you will connect that device's input node to a RS-232
output node on the NetLinx Controller.
As you drag the cursor, a line indicates the connection.
The cursor will change to indicate which nodes are not permitted for the type of connection you are
attempting.
Connection Nodes - Touch Panel UI Diagram
Connection nodes allow connections between UI Elements in the Touch Panel UI diagrams (UI tabs).
Each UI Element has at least two connection nodes. The connection nodes represent connections
between elements (pages) in the touch panel UI (FIG. 89).
The EXIT node (on the left side of the UI Element) connects the element to the previous panel
page in the UI. If you have a single main Navigation element that connects to all of the device
elements in your UI, then the EXIT node should connect the main Template element to the
Start Device element (the Touch Panel).
