Customizing Touch Panel UI Pages
Use the options in the Customize UI Pages dialog to edit the Touch Panel pages for controlled (third-
party) devices in the system.
To access this dialog, select a device element in a Touch Panel UI diagram, and select
Touch Panel >
Customize UI Pages
(or click the toolbar button).
Some basic features supported by the Customize UI Pages dialog include:
Cut, Copy and Paste buttons between pages and pop-ups.
Click-and-drag to move a selected element (button) within the panel page.
Right-click on any element (button) in the Design View window to access the context menu.
The
Toggle Grid
and
Snap-to-Grid
features help to quickly align elements (buttons) on the
page.
Adding User-Interface Elements To The Touch Panel Page
VA generates default touch panel pages for each third-party (controlled) device in the system. These
default pages represent the basic functionality of the device, based on device type and the selected touch
panel template. You can use the options in the Customize UI Pages dialog to edit these default pages if
necessary.
To add UI elements to the touch panel page:
1.
With a device element selected in a Touch Panel UI Diagram, select
Touch Panel > Customize UI
Pages
to access the Customize UI pages dialog. The touch panel page associated with the selected
device is displayed in the Design View window (in its default configuration).
The User Interface Elements window (on the right-side of the dialog) displays a listing of all user-
interface elements supported by this device. Note that these elements are color-coded (blue or gray -
FIG. 102).
The elements with a blue icon are currently included in the Touch Panel page, gray icons
indicate the elements that are not currently included on the page. These elements can be added
(as new buttons) to the panel page.
If you select a button in the Design View window, a green flag next to the element's icon (in
the User Interface Elements window) indicates which element the selected button represents.
2.
To add an element to the panel page, simply double-click on any unused element in the User
Interface Elements list. This action adds a new button for the selected element to the Design View
window.
Visual Architect automatically deletes any buttons for functions that are not supported
by the selected device (e.g., aspect ratio control for single-aspect video projectors).
