Installing Touch Panel Templates
In order to select a touch template to use with the panels in your system, you must first install at least one
template via the Touch Panel Template Manager dialog.
1.
Select Managers > Touch Panel Template Manager to access the Touch Panel Template Manager
dialog. Note that before you have installed any templates (or if you remove all installed templates),
the preview window indicates "No Installed Templates".

Click the Install button to open the Install sub-menu, which indicates that there are two ways to
install templates - From AMX.com, or From File.
From AMX.com
- this option allows you to download VA touch panel template files (*.VAT) from
the www.amx.com web site. Naturally, you must have access to the Internet in order to use this
option.
a.
When you make this selection, the AMX.com Template Library dialog attempts to retrieve the
VAT file(s) from the AMX web site.
b.
Select the templates that you want to download, and click Install.
Select
From File
to install *.VAT files from a local directory (either on your PC or on your LAN).
This option is useful in cases where the VAT file(s) have previously been downloaded to a local
centralized location.
a.
When you make this selection, the Install Template From File dialog is invoked.
b.
Use the Path field at the top of the dialog to navigate and select a file directory that contains at
least one VAT file.
c.
Select a template from the preview window and click Install. This action installs the selected
VAT and closes the dialog, returning you to the Touch Panel Template Manager dialog.
d.
The selected template is now represented in the preview area, and is available for selection.
3.
Close this dialog to complete the install process.
The templates you've installed are now indicated in the Touch Panel Template Manager, and are
available for selection via the Device Properties window.
Selecting A Touch Panel Template - Via The Basic System Assistant Dialog
The Basic System Assistant dialog includes options (Resolution and Template) for applying a template
to the selected Touch Panel.
1.
Select
File > New > Basic System Assistant
(or select Basic System Assistant under Start New
Project on the Welcome Screen) to open the Basic System Assistant.
2.
Select a Touch Panel from the drop-down menu to enable the
Resolution
field.
3.
If the selected panel supports multiple screen resolutions, select the desired resolution setting from
the Resolution drop-down menu. Note that many panels only support a single screen resolution.
4.
Select a
Template
from the drop-down menu.
Many templates support multiple
Color Schemes
. Click in the Color Schemes field in
the Properties window to view and select from the color schemes available for the
selected template.
Click the Browse button (...) to the right of the drop-down menu to browse by
thumbnail images.
