12” and 15” Modero Touch Panels
Introduction
The 12" and 15" Modero Color Active (CA) and Color Video (CV) LCD Touch Panels (FIG. 1) are based on
the latest display technology and support AMX's 4th generation graphics (G4) which provide rich colors and
high contrast images. The new G4 graphics technology is supported by the release of the latest TPDesign4
Touch Panel Design Program (version 2.5 or higher). Color Video (CV) panels support several video formats:
NTSC, SECAM, and PAL (
Color Active (CA) panels don’t support video
).
Key features common to both panels include:
Eye-catching images and full-motion video on both 12" and 15" image formats via their wide 170-
degree viewing angle LCD.
A front panel light sensor, motion sensor, and a Sleep/Setup Access combo button.
Support of
AMX Computer Control
, which enables remote viewing and control of any networked
computer directly from the panel. This gives the user the ability to launch digital music from a PC,
cruise the Internet, check and respond to E-mail, open software files, and launch applications.
Anything you can do on your PC can be accomplished through these panels.
An optional wireless solution that includes an NXA-WC80211b AMX wireless PCMCIA card,
allowing these panels to communicate with a NetLinx
®
Master via a standard 802.11b Wireless
Access Point, and an NXA-BASE/B battery base kit that allows the NXT to function off the charge
from two included NXT-BP batteries.
Modero Color Active (CA) Panels
Modero Color Active (CA) panels (FIG. 1) also accept downloadable graphics and commands via high-speed
NetLinx and Ethernet networks. CA panels support upgradeable memory modules of up to 256 MB and
Compact Flash cards of up to 1 GB that are used by more graphic-intensive TPD4 files. The optional NXA-
AVB Audio/Video Breakout Box allows CA panels to accept audio input from standard audio devices. Modero
Panels are uniquely and ergonomically designed for both Table Top (NXT) and Wall Mount (NXD)
environments.

It is recommended that firmware KIT files only be transferred over a direct Ethernet
connection and only when the panel is connected to a power supply.
If battery power or wireless connection fails during a firmware upgrade, the panel
flash file system may become corrupted.
