Sequential Grouping Pattern
Although using a spanning pattern is more common for Epica Distribution
Matrix enclosures, a sequential pattern can be used to group connectors. When
this pattern is selected, all instances of a single component in an aggregate signal
are assigned to a virtual channel that corresponds to an adjacent connector on the
same board.
Example
In the Y/c system in Figure 23, the “Y” component is assigned to the first
connector on the first input board, and the “c” component is assigned to the
second connector, with the Y-c-Y-c pattern being repeated for the entire board.
The first and second connectors (third and fourth, fifth and sixth, etc.) on the
board switch simultaneously, thereby routing the “Y” and “c” signals together.
The rest of the connectors for all of the Y/c boards (input and output) in the
system are assigned in the same way. This configuration routes 8 channels of Y/c
per board.
