Wiring Sources & Destinations
Source and destination devices will require either balanced (differential) or
unbalanced (single-ended) connections. Figure 5 illustrates the options for wiring
between the sources and the input connectors and between the output connectors
and the destinations. More than one of these options can be used in the same
system. For balanced and unbalanced wiring details, see Figures 3 and 4.
Note:
When using twisted pair wire, connect the shield (ground) at one end only
(recommend receiving end) to minimize low frequency noise (see Figure 5).
3.2 Adjusting Output Volume
Digital Gain (Volume) Output Boards
Applies to digital volume control output boards: FG1028-434, FG1028-464.
If your system contains digital volume control output boards, the CP-20A that
shipped with the system can adjust output volume (see the
Control Panel
Instruction Manual

or on the

). In addition, output volume can be controlled with BCS
(Basic Control Structure) commands from an external controller.
BCS Volume Adjustment
Volume can be adjusted using one of three BCS audio command methods:
Absolute, Relative, or Increment/Decrement. Directions for adjusting volume
using the Absolute Method (adjusting volume to a specific decibel level) are
given on page 3-4. Information and instructions for the other two methods can be
found in the
BCS Serial Control Protocol
section of this manual.
