Attaching Inputs & Outputs
Input and output connectors are the attachment points for source and destination
devices that connect to the system.
Epica-256 enclosures:
have 32 horizontal board slots (16 each for the input and
the output boards), allowing for a maximum configuration of 256x256. Viewed
from the rear of the enclosure, the input boards (for attaching sources) are above
the CPU and power supplies. The output boards (for attaching destinations) are
below the CPU and power supplies.
Epica-128 enclosures:
have 16 horizontal board slots (8 each for the input and
the output boards), allowing for a maximum configuration of 128x128. Viewed
from the rear of the enclosure, the input boards (for attaching sources) are on the
top, and the output boards (for attaching destinations) are directly below them.
Each board has 16 connectors. Input and output connectors are numbered
separately. The numbers are directly above the connectors and read left to right
on each board. The numbering continues on each subsequent board of the same
signal type.
