Programming the Address Book
The
e-m@iler
can store up to 700 entries. Each entry can have a name (up to 41 letters
long) together with a postal address (4 lines of up to 28 letters), an email address (up
to 73 characters) and 4 phone numbers: home, office, mobile and fax (each up to
23 digits).
Home or office use
Read this section if you are ever likely to use the
e-m@iler
in the office – either
now or in the future.
When storing entries, we recommend that you type in a
dash
before each telephone
number (for example
–01234 567890
). Doing this will enable you to move the
e-m@iler
freely between office and home, the definitions of 'office' and 'home' being:
♦
Office
– where the
e-m@iler
is used as a
PABX
switchboard extension
for which a
prefix number
(for example
9
) has to be dialled to get an outside line.
♦
Home
– where the
e-m@iler
is used on a direct telephone line (with no PABX prefix
number required).
Advanced settings page 126 shows you how to change between
office
(prefix set to
PABX) and
home
(prefix
not
set to PABX). After changing this setting, note the
following:
♦
If
Prefix to use
is set to
PABX
, a dash at the beginning of any stored
telephone number will make the
e-m@iler
include the prefix number automatically
when the stored telephone number is dialled.
♦
If
Prefix to use
is set to
None
(or
Cost Saver
), a dash at the beginning of
any stored telephone number will be ignored.
Note, to type in a dash, press
"
SHIFT
and
0
on the keyboard (or press
REDIAL / P
on
the
e-m@iler
).
and
or
&
If you are storing
extension
numbers in the Address Book,
do not
type in a
dash before the number.
&
Any dash typed in
after
the first digit of a stored telephone number will be
treated as a
pause
(information on page 49).
