Fire risk report
Electrical components
Approved electrical components and subassemblies have been used to limit
the risk of fire from the mains powered electrical equipment. In addition elec-
trical equipment that may represent a fire hazard is contained in a metal fire
enclosure. Overload devices are fitted to limit the effects of short circuits.
Chemicals
Chemicals that can react exothermically are supplied in separate pipe sys-
tems and can only come together intentionally in the reactor.
Oxygen monitoring (nitrogen purging) is used to ensure that chemicals that
react with air / O
2
do not pose a risk.
No bulk storage of flammable chemicals is allowed in the tool.
Engineering controls
Engineering controls are considered adequately so that the residual risk from
fire and smoke is low. No additional fire detection is required.

Gas sensing equipment
The end user has to install a proper gas sensing equipment to protect the
working area around the CRIUS II.
The gas sensing equipment must meet the following specification:
