Self Test Procedures
Power On Self
Test
Each time t he d igitizer is p ower ed on , a subset of self t ests ar e
p er for med. These t ests check t hat th e min imu m set of logic an d ou tp ut
hard war e ar e fu n ction in g p roper ly.
Full Self Test
The su ccessfu l execution of t he self test pr oced u r e p rovid es a high d egr ee
of con fid en ce th at th e d igitizer is oper atin g n or mally. The self t est
p rocedu r e is an au tomated pr ocedu r e t hat systematically exercises th e
pr ocessor, digit al in fr astr u ctu r e, memor y, an d an alog fr on t en d
su bsyst ems. The test p rocedu r e att emp ts t o isolate any failin g con dition s
fou n d t o a p ar ticular assembly to facilit ate trou bleshootin g an d r ep air.
The test typically t akes ap p r oximat ely 60 secon ds t o comp let e.

calibr ation sou rce. This sou r ce is t hen u sed t o stimulate t he an alog inp u t

p rop er op er ation . As t he d iffer en t sign al p at hs ar e con figu r ed for
testin g, t he activation of t he r elays used t o swit ch t he sign al p at hs is
au dible. After t he t est p rocedu r e comp letes, t he an alog inp u ts ar e
r e- con n ect ed t o t he r ear p an el BNC con n ector s.
