Self Test
A br ief p ower on self test occur s aut omatically wh en ever you cycle
p ower t o t he d igitizer. This limit ed test assu r es th at t he d igitizer is
cap able of oper ation . If t he power- on self test fails, t he
an n un ciat or
on t he r igh t sid e of t he disp lay tur n s on on ce t he d igitizer en t er s t he
Idle st ate. In t hat case, you may in itiat e a mor e comp let e self test as
d escr ibed below.
The comp lete self- test is an au t omated p rocedu r e th at systematically
exer cises t he p rocessor, digit al in fr astr uctu r e, memor y, an d an alog fron t
en d su bsyst ems. This p r oced ur e att emp ts t o isolate any failin g con dition s
fou n d to a p ar ticu lar assembly, t o facilit at e trou blesh ootin g an d r ep air.
The t est t akes ap p roximat ely 60 secon d s to comp lete. Su ccessfu l
execu tion of th e self- test p r ovid es a h igh degr ee of con fid en ce t hat th e
d igitizer is oper atin g n or mally.
