If a bolus duration of 00:00 is programmed,
a normal scroll bolus is delivered.

If you first program the time and then pro-
gram the bolus amount, you can prevent delivering
a scroll bolus instead of an extended bolus.
You can move back and forth between programming the bo-
lus duration and amount by pressing
d
, if necessary.
7. Check the bolus amount and the duration programmed on
the display.
8. Press
f
within 20 seconds* to confirm and start the bolus
delivery.
Your insulin pump beeps** a melody followed by three short
beeps and goes into
RUN
. Delivery of the extended bolus
begins.
The time and amount remaining for the bolus are shown on
the display until the entire extended bolus has been deli-
vered.

is not pressed within 20 seconds*, your insulin pump automa-
tically returns to
RUN
(timeout) and no bolus is delivered.
* These parameters may vary based on the standard configuration of your insulin pump
and changes made using the Accu-Chek DiaLog Pump Programming tool.
** Beeps occur only if they have not been turned off.

The bolus amount programmed is not confirmed with beeps or vibra-
tions when using the extended bolus. Bolus delivery starts immediately
after confirmation of the programmed amount and duration.

A standard or a scroll bolus cannot be programmed additionally
while an extended bolus is delivered.
To program an extended bolus
1. Make sure your insulin pump is in
RUN
and the KeyLock is
deactivated or the keys are unlocked.
2. Press
d
once to select the bolus menu.
The last bolus from the bolus history is displayed.
Please refer to section 6.1.1 “Review the bolus history”
for further information.
3. Confirm with
f
.
4. Press/scroll
a
to increase or
s
to decrease the bolus amount.
5. Press
d
to move to the bolus duration.
