3.2 Review or set time and date
Caution:
Incorrect setting of time and date can lead to incorrect insulin
delivery. Make sure that time and date are programmed correctly. This en-
sures correct insulin delivery and reliable data in the data memory.
If you, your doctor and/or your health care team reviews your therapy data
electronically, it is essential that time and date of your insulin pump (please
remember your BackUp insulin pump), your blood glucose measurement
system (such as an Accu-Chek Blood Glucose Meter), PC and other used
devices are set identically. If they are not, the gathered data may be incor-
rect. Check regularly that the time and date of your insulin pump, your
blood glucose measurement system, PC and other used devices are iden-
tical.
Info:
To review or set the time and date, your Accu-Chek D-TRONplus
insulin pump must be in
RUN
. Make sure that a cartridge is inserted in the
cartridge compartment, that an adapter is connected and in the lock posi-
tion, and that the piston rod has been advanced to the cartridge plunger.
Otherwise an “Alert A4: Cartridge/Adapter Alert” occurs.
Caution:
If you discover incomplete characters, numbers or symbols on
the display, your insulin pump needs to be returned since you may not be
notified of any changes of your insulin pump in a timely manner. Please
contact your Accu-Chek customer service center for insulin pumps.
Caution:
Do not interrupt the start-up procedure by pressing keys or in-
serting a cartridge or adapter. Interruption of the start-up procedure may
lead to malfunctions of your insulin pump.
Caution:
If your insulin pump does not beep and vibrate as described, or
if individual segments are shown incompletely or not at all, your insulin
pump needs to be returned since you may not be notified of any changes
of your insulin pump in a timely manner. Please contact your Accu-Chek
customer service center for insulin pumps.
Info:
If the PowerPack has been removed from your insulin pump for more
than 1 hour, an “Alert A3: Set Time/Date” might occur after the PowerPack
has been inserted. Reset the time and date. Your insulin pump configura-
tion and settings (basal rate, active profile, automatic off, etc.) and the
event memory (bolus history, history of daily totals, history of alerts and
errors) remain, irrespective of the PowerPack voltage and the time your
insulin pump has been without a PowerPack.
9. Rotate the adapter clockwise into the “lock” position.
Caution:
Do not rotate the adapter any further
than the lock position. This may cause damage to
the pump casing.
10. Put your insulin pump into
RUN
(press
d
and
f
).
11. Review the time and date and basal rate programming.
Please refer to sections 3.2 “Review or set the time and
date” and 3.4 “Review basal rate programming” for further
information.
