Direct Dialling Out (DDO)
If an external fax server is connected to an S bus, individual fax recipients allocated
a DDI number can be specifically addressed. In terms of routing technology, this
corresponding to a DDO (Direct Dialling Out) function.
The external fax server forwards the incoming faxes via e-mail to the relevant PC
stations that are set up as fax recipients.

Due to the configuration of the BRI-S interface as
EXTERNALS
and the use of the
DSS1 protocol, the fax calls can be routed via routes and trunk groups. This means
that all fax receivers that have been allocated a DDI number can be reached via a
single BRI-S interface.
