Device Monitoring
Overview
You can use the device monitoring features and tools described in this
chapter to analyze your network periodically and to identify potential
network problems before they become serious. To identify potential
problems in your network, use:

To test and validate paths in your network, use:

The SNMP protocol and the Management Information Base (MIB) are
described in this chapter to give you some background on how

Administration
Console
The Administration Console provides you with access to all the features
of your system. You can use the Administration console after you log in to
the EME and connect to a module slot in the Switch 4007 chassis
.
Web Management
Tools
The Web Management tools provides you access to the EME and
administration console remotely via the internet. It provides you with
complete access to the Administration Console as if you are connected
locally or through a Telnet connection. See the
