D. Specifications

J4 (Thin Ethernet)

Connector J4 is a female right angle miniature coaxial BNC type connector that has an
impedance of 50 ohm.

The mating connector is typically a male BNC "T" connector, part number 252640 from
AVA Electronics or equivalent.

Note:

J4 could make contact with an electrically conductive retaining bar used on some

card cages to lock the cards in place. This retaining bar may be tied to logic ground,
while J4 is meant to be isolated from logic ground (the shield of J4 is tied to chassis or
earth ground). Any unwanted contact can be eliminated in one of the following ways:

1. Remove the bar altogether.

2. Insert some form of insulating material between the retaining bar and the BNC

connector.
