2. USING THE MINIGAS MK5

2.10 WATCHDOG SIGNAL

2.10.1 General

When the Minigas Mk5 is operating normally in a safe gas
environment and no alarms and warnings have occurred
previously then, as a confidence check, a watchdog signal
recurs at 10-second intervals. This signal consists of a brief
audio bleep accompanied by a short flash on the green indicator
lights. However, this signal is modified to a double bleep after
any alarm condition has occurred and been cancelled or if the
battery voltage is low (see Table 1).

2.10.2 Silent Watchdog Facility

A software option is available allowing the watchdog signal to
be muted (that is, visible only):

(1)

In the Display Mode, apply short or medium presses to the
I/O button to step through to the elapsed time screen.

(2)

Apply a medium press to the 

O button to obtain the

bLEEP -y n- prompt screen.

(3)

Press the 

O button (no) to mute the watchdog bleep

and return to the elapsed time screen.

To revert to the normal audible and visible watchdog, repeat
the above procedure, pressing the I/O (yes) button when the
bLEEP -y n- prompt is displayed.

2.11 GO/NOGO MODE

A Minigas Mk5 configured with the Go/NoGo software option
does not display any gas readings. Instead, under safe

conditions it has the INST  (

) arrow highlighted and only

displays indications of the sensors fitted:
