Check lamp brightness

The lamp brightness can be controlled (see page 109).
The brightness adjustment has an effect on the surgical field illumina-
tion.
•
Check lamps

Primary lamp and backup lamp are both intact.
•
Check stand for secure positioning

At least two of the locking tabs of the casters have been pressed and
prevent the stand from starting to move by itself (see page 85).
•
Check user settings

The correct user profile has been set, and the settings have been
checked (see page 105).
•
Check unobstructed movement of the system

The system has been positioned in such a way that it can be moved
away from the patient at any time.

Check foot control panel

Stand and surgical microscope must perform the specified functions
(see page 112).
NOTICE Risk of injury when tilting the surgical microscope!
If the surgical microscope is tilted heavily during an operation, the co-obser-
vation tube may swing downward unintentionally, or an accessory attached
to the surgical microscope may swing in unintentionally.
This can cause contact with and injury to the patient.
•
Always use extreme caution when adjusting the surgical microscope:
– Hold the surgical microscope tight.
– Loosen the friction knob only a little.
– To the extent possible, tilt the surgical microscope only by a small
angle range.
– Finally, tighten the friction knob firmly again.
