5.1
Selecting the 10-MHz Reference Signal
Procedure
To exit the menu during operation, press

Explanation
The VB8300 generates waveforms by synchronizing to the internal or external clock
signal. The internal clock signal is generated based on the 10-MHz reference signal.
You can select whether to use the internal signal or a signal applied externally for the 10-
MHz reference signal.
Int
Generates the internal clock signal based on the internal 10-MHz reference signal.
Ext
Generates the internal clock signal based on the an external 10-MHz reference signal
(external reference signal).
• When using an external reference signal, connect a BNC cable to the 10 MHz REF
IN terminal on the rear panel and apply the signal.
• For detailed specifications of the external reference signal, see section 13.3.
Note
You cannot select the reference signal when the clock signal is set to external (see section
5.2) or while waveform generation is in progress.
