Before You Start
To enable 100BaseT or a Token Ring interface, refer to Chapter 2
How to Connect to Ethernet or Token Ring Networks to
configure the Speed and Source Routing settings for your
environment.
NOTE: Your Document Centre now has DHCP, LPR, and NetBIOS over
the IP protocol enabled by default. If your DHCP server will
provide host name, IP address, Gateway address, and Subnet Mask,
the Document Centre TCP/IP information will be configured on
initial boot. This means that if you have configured your DHCP
server with the desired information, you may go right to the section
in this chapter entitled
Go to a Workstation and... .
This procedure assumes you are going to manually set your TCP/IP
information and have recorded the IP Address, Subnet Mask, and
Default Gateway IP address that is to be assigned to your printer.
The Document Centre will compute your Broadcast Address
automatically.
For information on how your printer can connect to a DHCP,
BOOTP, or RARP server to be assigned an IP address dynamically,
refer to the section in this document entitled
Dynamic IP Address
