General

1) If installed, remove the temperature monitoring for piston cooling from the main

bearing cover before you install the double pre-tensioning jacks (94114).

2) Clean the threads of the elastic bolts (4,

Fig. 1

) and the faces of the round nuts (3).

3) Apply oil to the threads of the elastic bolts (4).

Note: Do not install the thrust device (94110).
Note: Read the data in

General Application Instructions for Pre-tensioning

Jacks.

Pre-tensioning Jacks

−

Install

1) Put the double pre-tensioning jacks

(94114) in position on the elastic

bolts (4).

2) Turn the round nuts (12) up and move

the tension sleeves (6) on to the elastic

bolts (4).

3) Open all vent screws (2).
4) Turn the round nuts (12) to push the

pistons (11, 8) against the cylinders (9,

7). Make sure that there is only a small

clearance, or no clearance at X.

5) Make a mark on the round nuts (3) and

the bearing cover.

Note: To loosen the elastic bolts (4), turn

back the round nuts (12)

approximately one turn (to ge a

clearance at (1).

Note: To apply tension to the elastic bolts

(3), the round nuts (5) must touch

the pistons.
