Main Bearing Cover

Removal

5.1

Preparation

1) Set to off the main oil supply pumps.
2) Stop the oil lubrication to the main

bearing.

3) Operate the turning gear to move the

crank pin approximately 90

after TDC.

4) Lock the turning gear to prevent

movement.

5) Install the platforms (94143, 94144) as

shown.

6) Remove the oil pipe (1,

) from the

main bearing cover.

7) Remove the round nuts from the main

bearing cover, refer to

1132

−

8) Install the thrust device (94110) to the

applicable main bearing, refer to

paragraph

5.2

Removal

9) Attach the eye bolt (EB2,

Fig. 7

) next to

the gland box (1).

10) Attach the shackle (94572H) to the eye

bolt (EB2).

11) Attach the manual ratchet (H2) to the

eye bolt (EB2) and the lug (94116B).

12) Attach the shackle (94572H) to the

column.

13) Attach the deviation pipe (94117B) to the

column

14) Attach the manual ratchet (H3) to the

shackle (94572H).

15) Operate the manual ratchet (H2) to lift

the bearing cover to a sufficient height

above the elastic bolts.

16) Attach the manual ratchet (H3) to the lug

(94116B).
