Removal

1) Stop the engine.
2) Open the indicator valve (3,

) to make sure that there is no pressure in the

compression chamber.

3) Remove the relief valve (2) from the adaptor (5).

3.

Blow-off pressure check

1) There are two alternative procedures to do a check of the relief valve (2).

3.1

Procedure One

To do a check of the relief valve (2) use the injector test bench (94272) and test and

calibration fluid (refer to the specification in

). You can also use a low viscosity oil

as a test fluid.
1) Read the instructions of the manufacturer’s manual for the test bench (94272,

).

2) Attach the valve holder (94272C), to the test bench (94272).
3) Attach the relief valve (2) to the valve holder (94272C).
4) Do a check of the blow

−

off pressure on the relief valve (2).

5) Make sure that the relief valve is set to blow off at 250 bar. This relates to a firing

pressure of between 176 bar and 180 bar.

6) Release the pressure in the test bench (94272).
7) Remove the relief valve (2) from the valve holder (94272C).

3.2

Procedure Two

1) Attach the relief valve (2) to the valve holder (94272C).
2) Connect the HP oil pump (94931) and the hose (94935) to the pressure

gauge (94934A).

3) Connect the pressure gage to the valve holder (94272C).
4) Close the relief valve (RV) on the HP oil pump.
5) Operate the HP oil pump (94931).
6) Do a check of the blow

−

off pressure on the relief valve (2).

7) Make sure that the relief valve is set to blow off at 250 bar. This relates to a firing

pressure of between 176 bar and 180 bar.

8) Open the relief valve (RV) on the HP oil pump to release the pressure in the

hose (94935).

9) Disconnect the hose and the HP oil pump from the relief valve (2).
10) Remove the relief valve (2) from the valve holder (94272C).
