Installation

CAUTION

Equipment Damage: The surfaces of the cylinder liner and the

nozzle tip make a metallic seal. The seat angles in the cylinder liner

and on the nozzle tip are different. Do not use a gasket between the

cylinder liner and the nozzle tip.

1) Make sure that the sealing faces (SF, 

Fig. 2

) are clean and have no damage.

2) Do a visual inspection of the inner side of the lubricating quill.
3) Make sure that the lubricating oil pipes (12) are clean and have no damage.
4) Align the marks, then attach the nozzle tip (5) to the lubricating quill (4).
5) Push the nozzle tip (5) on to the lubricating quill (4).
6) Put the lubricating quill (4) in position in the cylinder liner (1). Make sure that the

dowel pin (8) engages in the hole.

7) Apply oil to the threads and surfaces of the screws (9).
8) Torque the bolts (9) to10 Nm.
9) Remove the protection from the oil pipes (12).
10) Attach the oil pipes (12) to the lubricating quill (4).
11) Tighten the nuts of the unions (10) and (11).
12) Bleed the oil pipes (12), refer to7218

13) Do a function check of the cylinder lubricating system.

Lubricating Quill

 Function Check

4.1

General

You do a function check to make sure that the non

−

return valve operates correctly. The

pressure that opens the non

−

return valve is 5.0 bar.

During the function check, keep the lubricating quill (4) in a horizontal position.
For the function check, use an oil with a viscosity as given in the specifications that

follow:

D

SAE 50 at 40

_

C (approx. 200 cSt)

D

 SAE 30 at 25

_

C (approx. 190 cSt).

4.2

Procedure

1) If necessary, remove the screw

−

in union (10) of the lubricating quill.

2) Install the connection nipple (94934I, 

Fig. 3

) to the lubricating quill (2).

3) Connect  HP hose (94935) to the nipple (94934I).
4) Hold the lubricating quill (2) up and operate the pump (94931) until oil that flows has

no air.

5) Release the pressure in the the lubricating quill.
6) Apply a pressure of 2.0 bar and increase it in steps of 1.0 bar until the non-return

valve (1) opens.
