HL400D Direct Drive Models
Assemble Companion Flange:
1. Install the oil seal in bearing housing.
2. Install bearing in bearing housing.
3. Lay the bearing housing on bearing side.
4. Press companion flange through bearing from the oil seal side.
5. install retaining ring in companion flange.
6. Tap bearing back into bearing housing to ensure bearing is seated in bore.
Install Companion Flange on Pump:
1. Install O-ring in groove on pump pedestal.
2. Slide companion flange/bearing housing back over shaft spline and into
bearing housing.
3. Install the companion flange hex head screw and washer. Torque to 19
lb-ft. (27 N•m).
4. Install the four (4) socket head screws and washers attaching bearing
housing to pump pedestal. Torque to 38 lb-ft (53 N•m).
5. Install magnetic tachometer pick-up in pump pedestal. See Page 37 for
installation.
