Disassembly - Remove Primers
Pumps with PIV (Priming Isolation Valve)
1. Remove the four (4) socket head screws attaching primer to pump pedestal.
2. Slide the primer back until clear of pump pedestal.
3. Remove the O-ring from external groove in primer (Note that bronze pumps
use an O-ring and gasket).
4. Remove O-ring from internal groove in primer.
5. Repeat Process for primer on opposite side of pump.
6. If the pedestal will be removed from the pump or the PIV overhauled,
remove the PIV from the pump (see next page for instructions.)
Pumps without PIV (Priming Isolation Valve)
1. Remove the four (4) socket head screws attaching primer to pump pedestal.
2. Loosen the hex nut on top of the primer until it is disengaged from the elbow.
3. Slide the primer back until clear of pump pedestal.
4. Remove the O-ring from external groove in primer.
5. Repeat Process for primer on opposite side of pump.
6. If the pedestal will be removed from the pump or the PIV overhauled,
remove the PIV from the pump (see next page for instructions.
