Gateway tab
A gateway is an endpoint on the Local Area Network which facilitates real time, two-
way communication between a LAN videoconferencing terminal and terminals
operating on other network types. For example, when a call is between a LAN endpoint
and a WAN endpoint, it must pass through a gateway. A gateway is not needed when
the call is between two LAN endpoints.
•
For important information about gateways,
please refer to Chapter 1.
Enter the gateway name,
its IP Address and the
name of the gateway
vendor. Each gateway
name is associated with
its IP Address and the
vendor type. When the
user actually makes a call
through a gateway, one
of these names is
specified. This name
identifies the gateway to
be used for a particular
call.
Right-click inside
the Vendor Profiles
box to create a
new profile [see
the next section].
To edit an existing
profile, right-click
on a vendor’s name
and select
Properties
.
The IP Address
field is optional.
