Adjust the volume slider, located in the lower left corner of the video window, to a
setting of 75%. Next, place a loopback call (see page 3.13) and speak normally into the
microphone. Adjust the volume slider bar as necessary.
•
Neither the monitor volume or the sound card
volume should be touched once they have been
set correctly. Adjust the volume only with the
AppsView volume slider.
Local site cannot hear remote site
•
Press the mute button on the monitor remote control to “unmute” the
monitor speakers.
•
Check the audio level on your volume slider.
•
Check the cable between the speaker and the VTEL codec board. Be sure that
it is firmly inserted.
•
The audio may be routed to the headphone. To check, open the Control
Interface and select the
Audio tab. Make sure that Speaker/Microphone is
selected.
•
The remote site may have muted its microphone. Ask someone at the other
end to test whether or not their microphone is muted.
•
The microphone on the remote site may have been disconnected. Ask
someone on the other end to check their microphone cable.
Remote site cannot hear local site
•
Have someone at the remote site check that the speaker cable is firmly placed
into the codec’s audio board.
•
The audio may be routed to the headphone. Have someone at the remote site
verify their audio source selection.
•
Your microphone may be muted. Click the AppsView Audio Privacy button
to test whether or not the microphone is muted.
•
Your microphone may have been disconnected. Check the breakout cable
connected to the table top microphone and the VTEL codec board.
•
The jumper settings may be incorrect on the VTEL codec board.
•
Certain videoconferencing systems have the capability to mute the incoming
audio. The user should check if this is the case with a system if the remote
site cannot hear the local site.
