• Activating a gear, do not exert force in any other direction except for the normal
course;
• Changing gears, release totally the accelerator pedal. Double activation of the
clutch pedal or accelerations are unnecessary. These procedures only enhance
the fuel consumption and cause premature wear of the system.
• Remember, on steep descents, to use the engine brake effect and to activate
the same gear as used for the climbing.
Oil Level in the Gearbox
a) Position the vehicle on a plane site;
b) Remove the plug (1): the level should reach the hole-border;
c) If the level is low, fill up with the oil recommended in Chart 1.
Oil Change in the Gearbox
The oil change eliminates possible failures in bearings, wear of rings and seizing
caused by ultimate metal particles, formed in the process of natural wear, which
damage these components. Moreover, the oil alters because of repeated cycles

TRANSMISSION – GEARBOX
MANUAL GEARBOX
Use of synchronized gearbox
This gearbox features 5 forward gears (all synchronized) and 1 reverse gear. The
proper use of the gears ensure the engine operation in its better performance
state and, therefore, in economical regime. To this effect, the rule is to always
use the engine running at the maximum torque rotation to the maximum capacity
rotation due to the importance of the counterrotations. The other parameter for the
correct use of the gears is a speed gained at every gear. See also item “Important
recommendations for the Driver”.
• Always use the first gear to start the motion;
• Never drive with the transmission in the dead point;
• Activate the reverse gear only when the vehicle is stopped;
• Do not rest your hand on the speed-select lever;
