IMPORTANT: check the tightening and state of the electrical connections
of the engine sensors.
i) Check if all the the vehicle’s instruments and controls are functioning well;
j) Check if all the headlights, taillights, back-up light, blinkers, etc. are functioning
well;
k) Drain the water of the brake pneumatic reservoirs, pulling the drainage valves
upwards.
l) Getting started movement, check if the brake is functioning well.
WEEKLY: Inspect the inferior suspension and steering components of
your vehicle, taking immediate measures in case of need.
IMPORTANT RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE DRIVER
1- Use the brake moderately.
NOTE: try to use the engine brake to reduce the speed, that is, drive
reducing the gears to aid the braking operation.
2- Avoid the engine overaccelerating when starting.
NOTE: Also, when changing the gears, avoid excessive rotation, so-
called gear “sticking”. It increases the mechanical wear and fuel consumption
as well.
3- Perform gear changing most softly and sincronizingly possible, providing
comfort and security for the passengers.
4- Always use the clutch pedal to change gears. Incorrect use of the coupling
clutches will cause premature failures in the gearbox synchronizers.
5- Always select the 1st gear to start the vehicle.
6- Never apply force to the speed selector lever, beating or pushing it to complete
the gear coupling.
7- Ascent and slopes: never declutch the transmission on ascents. It is illegal
and dangerous.
NOTE: Instead of this, always use the same gear that would be necessary
to climb the same slope, ensuring control over the vehicle. Do not drive the
vehicle in transversal direction in relation to the slant, nor break the direction on
declines. In such a manner, what may occur is a lateral ramp, loss of control
and traction loss.
On descents do not brake abruptly, nor operate the engine at excessive rotations
using the engine brake (reducing gear at a high speed).
8- Get into the reverse gear only when the vehicle is stopped.
9- Never release the clutch pedal abruptly.
10- Never rest your foot on the cluth pedal or your hand on the speed selector
lever
