High-Pressure Pump
Its function in the system is to provide fuel in the exact quantity under high pressure
for the distributing tubes (common rail).
The high-pressure pump is a high-pressure component. Its adjustment or eventual
repairs should be performed by special personnel.
Electroinjectors
The electroinjectors are also high-pressure components. Its function is pulverizing,
inside every cylinder, fuel under high-pressure provided by the high-pressure
pump.
ATTENTION: None of maintenance procedures should be realized with
the engine in operation, what may cause serious injuries or death
The high-pressure connections should be tightened with a special torque before
starting the engine.
FUEL TANK
The fuel tank is located on the left
side of the vehicle.
The cap to get access to the fuel tank float is
located in the passenger compartment.
The fuel tank features a fuel indicator, situated near the watch on the panel. It
informs the vehicle’s driver of approximate quantity of fuel in the tank.
When necessary, the fuel may be completely drained from the tank, removing
the drainage plug.
One of the primary conditions that should be observed when filling the fuel
tank is that all the utensils put in contact with the diesel oil will be perfectly
clean.
Filling it, always take care to not let impurities get into the tank.
Fuel tank cleaning procedure:
a) Release the plug located on the inferior part of the tank;
b) Let the oil drop down at a speed in order to deposit the impurities on the bottom
in the plug mouth;
c) If necessary, remove the tank and proceed with the internal cleaning using
only diesel oil;
