Notices
IGMP snooping and MVR can be independently enabled.
IGMP snooping and MVR use the same IGMP timers.
MVR can recognize IGMPv3 reports.
About the IGMPv3 report, switch doesn’t treat those group records with the following
group record types as membership reports. Those group record types are
MODE_IS_INCLUDE,
CHANGE_TO_INCLUDE_MODE,
ALLOW_NEW_SOURCES and BLOCK_OLD_SOURCES.
Don’t use the group address X.0.0.1 for your multicast stream. It is because the system
detects and records the 224.0.0.1 for dynamic querier port. The group address X.0.0.1
may conflict with 224.0.0.1.
Because the lower 23 bits of the 28-bit multicast IP address are mapped into the 23 bits
of available Ethernet address space. When you configure group address, the Switch
compares the lower 23 bits only.
CLI command “
group 1 start-address 224.1.1.1 6
”, it creates 6 groups. That is, one IP,
one group.
The MVR name should be the combination of the digit or the alphabet.
