8.4.3.2. Film with vertical stripes
Possible causes:
•
Cassette movement not regular
This can be due to an obstacle on the cassette holder.
Check that the movement of the cassette is smooth and without
oscillation. Check this on all the run of the cassette; place an hand
on the moving part and feel the vibrations. If the movement shows
some vibrations, verify that there is no interference between the
plastic cover of the moving part (the grey band on the upper side of
the cassette holder) and the cassette support. Remove the
interference, substituting the plastic band.

During the movement, there is a noise coming from the
stepper motor
The possible cause is a faulty of the motor itself of the related driver.
Perform the tests described for error message E503.

Exposure parameters not correctly
The problem can be due to an unwanted oscillation on the exposure
parameters. Check it using the procedure for the check of exposure
parameters; the diagnostics may be significantly improved by the use
of a memory oscilloscope to trace the waveform of the resulting
signals.
8.4.3.3. Film with not irradiated areas
If the plate has non-irradiated areas or is completely white ,this almost
certainly means that there is an alignment error between the X-rays'
beam and the film.
Check the alignment between the laser centering devices and the
irradiated X-rays field following the procedure given in paragraph 7.2.
8.4.3.4. Film with missing highlight of the Soft Tissues
In the case of cephalometry, in a latero-lateral, with missing highlight of
the soft tissues , check the set FPM values following the procedure given
in password 124.
