8.3.4.4. Primary collimator setup
WARNING:
In this menu the emission is enabled; it starts with the X-ray button
press, so take care of this situation.
This function allows the set of the offsets of different slots of the primary
collimator; each slit has only one offset, always positive. Changes on the
offset values change the angulations of the slit, so it can affect the beam
centering on the relevant cassette. Once the Patient centering (>0<) key is
pressed, the following message is displayed:
P O S = x S P E E D = Y Y a
O F F S E T = x x x x x
where:
• "x" is the collimator slit under change/test; it can be changed using
the column up/column down keys ; 0 is the PAN Child, 1 is
the PAN Adult and following are the CEPH slits. If the slot is changed,
the LED of the Test (T) key will blink to signal that it is possible to
position the collimator disk on the selected position. This is
performed pressing the "Examination Mode Selection – M" key.
• "YY" is the stepper motor speed, that can be changed using the
parameter increase/decrease keys.
• "a" is the status of the zero optical barriers; the correct slit position is
achieved when the value is 0, i.e. there is light.
•
"xxxxx" is the current value of the offset, that can be changed with
the left/right keys.
This function is used to check the beam alignment; the emission is
started by the X-ray button pressing and the exposure parameters can
be set by pressing the key ; when it has been pressed, the normal
change procedure to set manual exposure parameters is followed.
